Importing Wine, How Does it Feel?

I wanted to post an update overall from a personal perspective about some things I have been thinking about. Our first wine order is sitting in Oakland at the port, ready to be unloaded as I am typing this and it lead me to think about how we got to this point.

This journey started a long time ago, but really began November of last year when I first mentioned the possibility out-loud to Blair.

Many things have happened since then including but no limited to: Creating our first LLC, working to raise capital, two trips to Spain, and countless hours on the computer in between and around all other things.

Everything was leading to the point where the wine itself would be here in the United States and available for us to get into people’s hands to drink. Our partnerships with these wineries officially starts now. Our representation of their families and their lives in the US has begun.

It is crazy to think that we have gotten to this point and  really how little we have accomplished of our business goals. Step by step, day by day (I’m not singing the step by step theme song, YOU ARE) we wake up, try to accomplish as much as we can and then be done. Some days, that is all day and all night, but none the less it has gotten us to this point.

We have so many (this is an understatement) things coming down the line we are excited to show everyone, but we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves. I want to take a few moments and reflect on what has gotten us to this point, and this would be a great time for anyone reading this to do the same.

How did you get to where you are today? Are you happy with what you have done and where you are in your life?Who should you thank for being here?Have you put enough (or any) Faith in God’s hands?

There are many questions you can ask yourself on a daily basis, but for the most part you should not dwell and just put your head down and grind. We have, and it got us to this point and will continue to get us to others.

It is good to take a step back sometimes and remember to thank people, especially people like my amazing Wife and kids who have put up with me and my crazy way of thinking, adjusted to our new lifestyle and did nothing but support me the whole way.

Well, don’t thank my wife, maybe thank someone in your life. It would probably make more sense for you.

I won’t ramble on too long with things but I want to leave everyone with this.
If you aren’t happy with where you are in your life, do something about it.Don’t complain. Don’t dwell. Don’t make excuses for why you can’t do something.Just… make a change. Do what you want. How many times have you heard someone say “You only live once” or some form of it (For anyone that said YOLO…*eyeroll*)

It is only cliche to say it and not do it.

A friend of mine told me recently, a crazy idea is only crazy if it doesn’t work.
Find anything within yourself to make the call that will change your life. Even if you fail, so what?Do you really want to live your only life and play it safely? If you truly feel that way and you don’t have any regrets, then by all means you have already won. If you are happy, and literally have no regrets that is the goal and the whole point in life.

For the 95% of you that are out there, questioning what you are doing, questioning your direction, complaining, and all things I listed above… what are you waiting for?

I can tell you from experience, it will be the best, most freeing decision you have ever made when it comes to your work life. If you think about how often you are working, it does take up a lot of your life. Stop wishing for the weekend. Stop wishing 1/2 of your life away. Start making decisions that will make you happy.
Have blind faith and you never know what direction it will take you….

Until next time,
